Client Gets FDCPA and FCRA Judgment Against Debt Collector

On March 18, 2019, Maryland’s Federal Court signed an Order granting summary judgment against debt collector Ability Recovery Services, in favor of The Goldson Law Office’s client Crystal Long. See Judge Hazel’s supporting memorandum here: Long v. Pendrick Capital Partners Summary Judgment Opinion.

In addition to finding the debt collector liable, the Court found that the debt buyer, Pendrick Capital Partners, can be held liable for FDCPA violations vicariously through co-defendant Ability Recovery Services. The Plaintiff is also clear to pursue her defamation claim against Ability at trial.
